The Forensic Identification Services Unit (FISU) offers a fingerprinting service.
The service is available for anyone requiring fingerprints to be taken for the following reasons:
- Applying for visas for emigration, temporary stays or work permits in non-EU countries.
- Applying for overseas clearance in order to take up certain forms of employment in the UK.
- Renewing of passports, for South Africa and other states requiring fingerprints for the purpose.
- Other circumstances at the discretion of the Unit.
Applicants need to produce a valid passport. This must be the original document and is the only acceptable form of identification. The fee for the service is £77.70 for the first set and £38.80 for each additional set and must be paid by cash.
The service is available by appointment only between the following times (excluding bank holidays): Monday to Friday: 8am - 3pm.
