Officers investigate burglary at house in Brighton Road, Worthing

17 Jul, 2017 14:06 News Witness Appeals

Police are appealing for witnesses to a burglary at a house in Brighton Road, Worthing, which occurred between 5pm and 10pm on Thursday, 13 July.

A quantity of ladies' jewellery, cash including £500 sterling and £200 in Euros, two passports and a digital camera were taken. In addition, several cheque and paying-in books belonging to the victims were also stolen.

PC Dave Slade, of the Worthing response unit, said: "This incident was very upsetting for the victims who were at home in another part of the house at the time. A rear window was opened by the suspect or suspects, allowing entry to a bedroom from where the missing items were taken.

"If anyone has any information, in particular concerning someone carrying a ladder to the rear of the property, accessed via either Selden Road or Selden Lane, please can they get in touch as soon as possible."

Anyone able to help is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk, report details online here or call 101, quoting serial 803 of 14/07. Alternatively, they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via its website here
