Police Officers no longer have to make a record of all stops. A stop is defined as,

"Where an officer asks the person to account for their actions, behaviour, presence in an area, or possession of anything".

The person stopped will not have to give their name or address and the ethnicity of the person needn't be recorded (unless it is the policy of that particular officer's force to record ethnicity). This will save a lot of time for all involved. The officer still needs to inform the person who they are (name, collar number, station etc).

A person who is asked to account for themselves should, if they request, be given information about how they can report their dissatisfaction about how they have been treated.
