Handling Threats to Life Intelligence
The Human Rights Act 1998 enshrines the ‘Right to Life’ in British Law. British and European legislation also places an obligation on police to take all reasonable steps to protect a person whose life is in real and immediate danger from the criminal acts of another. This policy underpins this guidance and sets out procedures to be adopted in support of these principles. It takes into account the recent guide to handling threats to life issued by McKay Law.
